Should Police Negotiators learn hypnosis?

If Police negotiators knew hypnosis they could attempt to hypnotize the subjects into being subdued.

Well if negotiations were like they were in the movies then yes, but they are not even close to that. Negotiations actually go on over mega phones a lot of the time and sometimes they wont even speak to most negotiators for more than 5 min a at a time in the beginning, and most negotiation situations are actually for barricaded subjects who eventually comply and are just a threat to themselves rather than the hostage situation (which is what a lot of people believe is a negotiators only job).
